[She takes the communicator from Darin (who is face down in the snow underneath her) and starts speaking in a chipper voice.]

Hello, father~! I'm not sure what he's told you, but I promise everything is going perfectly well.

Hello Allura. I hope that you left Darin in one piece. He was only trying to help.

I'm glad to hear it, however. There was the mention of you clutching...bombs? So of course you will understand my concern for your well-being, both your well-beings.

Oh, of course! I would never seriously hurt him. Of course, it might have sounded a little violent, but his resilience is really quite incredible! I'm not sure I could break him if I tried!

Now... yes. I admit, I did find a chest full of these unusually cute and expertly crafted items that could, in purpose, be considered a type of bomb. But they aren't armed, and -- look, you really ought to see them for yourself! Using one would be like blowing up a piece of art!

Perhaps I'll come back out to Allcoran so I can do just that- have a look at them. But if they're considered a type of bomb, then there doesn't seem to be much room for doubt as to their purpose, Allura. Armed or not, there's no denying what they're capable of.

[It takes a moment, but she switches the device to video. Sure enough, it's everything that one would expect: A snow-covered region of the planet, with Allura bundled up in warm gear. Darin is barely in the frame, and is probably regretting his decisions, since he's wearing his usual clothes while being face-down in the snow.]

[But enough about that. What's important here is the bomb Allura is holding in her hands.]

Just try and tell me this is the same as any other bomb! It has little feet on the bottom, too!

No, I'm saying such because you don't go finding things with the qualities of a bomb if it wasn't meant to be its purpose. But I stand open to being convinced of otherwise as facts permit.

[With the feed turning to show visual, Alfor likewise toggles it on his own end so that Allura can see him as well. He studies what he can of the object his daughter holds, shaking his head.]

Dearest, you know that I can't tell very much by looking at it through a picture. Tell me this- same or not, is it still undoubtedly a bomb?

I actually haven't confirmed that myself. It's not as though this came with an instruction manual. And you've already Darin's conclusion about the device...

[She's quiet, before there's an annoyed, bratty huff. Like she already knows she's about to be overruled.]

... and... he is more qualified than I am, to understand its mechanics.

You know there's an easy way to confirm it, Allura.

Darin is only concerned about the potential danger you might be in. Now, I want you to be honest with yourself- with such facts and presented, would it really be worth the risk? I don't want to see you hurt, and I'm sure you would not want to see anyone else possibly hurt either. Nor do I want you to be in trouble for bringing foreign ordnance aboard the station.

... look, it does sound simple when you put it like that, but — haven't you ever found things that you don't want to leave behind, even if you know they're going to cause you trouble in the long run? That you would take on the responsibility to keep them from hurting anyone?

Is Darin still there? Would it be possible for him to replicate the design? Just without the explosive addition? I daresay he can probably even do better.

[There's a significant pause. Darin can hear the conversation and even though he's offscreen, he'll go ahead and respond with a heavy sigh.]

Okay, look. If you get off my back, literally and figuratively, I'll see what I can do about disarming them. If I can't disarm them, I'll rebuild them with the motors so you can have your mouse toys...
